猛犸象 woolly mammoth

曼尼是《冰河世紀》中性情溫和而穩重的長(cháng)毛象，這種曾經(jīng)稱(chēng)霸冰河世紀的動(dòng)物緣何滅絕于世？

猛犸生活在約1萬(wàn)1千年前，首次出現是480萬(wàn)年前，約5000年前神秘滅絕，古脊椎動(dòng)物，哺乳綱，長(cháng)鼻目，真象科。學(xué)名真猛犸象，也稱(chēng)長(cháng)毛猛犸象。猛犸是韃靼語(yǔ)“地下居住者”的意思，曾經(jīng)是世界上最大的象。它身高體壯，有粗壯的腿，腳生四趾，頭特別大，在其嘴部長(cháng)出一對彎曲的大門(mén)牙。猛犸象以自己整個(gè)種群的滅亡標志了第四紀冰川時(shí)代的結束。也有一說(shuō)是因為人類(lèi)的屠殺造成了猛犸象的滅絕。

The woolly mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius), also called the tundra mammoth, is an extinct species of mammoth. This animal is known from bones and frozen carcasses from northern North America and northern Eurasia with the best preserved carcasses in Siberia. This mammoth species was first recorded in (possibly 150,000 years old) deposits of the second last glaciation in Eurasia. They were derived from steppe mammoths (Mammuthus trogontherii)

巨型地獺，居住在數萬(wàn)年前的阿根廷彭巴斯大草原，又名美洲大地懶。這種動(dòng)物生活在距今約1萬(wàn)年至10萬(wàn)年前的南美洲大陸，為當時(shí)體型最大的哺乳動(dòng)物。身高可達6公尺，體重約5噸，前肢和后肢都具有強壯且尖銳的爪子�？梢灾绷�，并能用它那強壯的手臂與巨大的爪子將整個(gè)樹(shù)枝拔下。它也是在第四紀大冰川期滅絕的。



Sid is a ground sloth shown in all three films as one of the main characters. While he is always called "Sid", Sid's full name is Sidney, as revealed by his would-be paramour Sylvia.

Ground sloths are a diverse group of extinct sloths, in the mammalian superorder Xenarthra. They may have died out as recently as 1550 AD in Hispaniola and Cuba, but had long since been extinct on the mainland of North and South America. The term "ground sloth" is used as a reference for all extinct sloths because of the large size of the earliest forms discovered, as opposed to the extant "tree sloths." However, this is an historical convention and does not imply that all extinct sloths were strictly terrestrial in nature. The megalonychid ground sloths first appeared in the early Oligocene, about 35 million years ago, in southern Argentina (Patagonia).

迪亞哥是《冰河世紀》中善戰但同樣心地善良的劍齒虎，他并不像自己的外表那么嚇人，但真實(shí)的劍齒虎是這樣的么？

劍齒虎一直生活到距今100萬(wàn)年前的更新世。它是大型貓科動(dòng)物進(jìn)化中的一個(gè)旁支, 生活在距今300 萬(wàn)～1.5 萬(wàn)年前的更新世——全新世時(shí)期, 與進(jìn)化中的人類(lèi)祖先共同渡過(guò)了近300 萬(wàn)年的時(shí)間。劍齒虎的體形大約與現代虎差不多，但是它的上犬齒卻比起現代虎的犬齒大得多，甚至比野豬雄獸的獠牙還要大，如同兩柄倒插的短劍一般。劍齒虎是個(gè)孤獨的伏擊殺手。它是如何利用自己的獠牙捕殺獵物的？人們卻對此知之甚少。但根據比較附著(zhù)在美洲豹頭骨上的咬合肌，得知劍齒虎的撕咬能力相當驚人。

Smilodon, sometimes called sabre-toothed cat, is an extinct genus of large machairodontine saber-toothed cats that lived between approximately 2.5 million to 10,000 years ago in North and South America. They are called "sabre-toothed" for the extreme length of their maxillary canines. The La Brea tar pits in California trapped hundreds of Smilodon in the tar, possibly as they tried to feed on mammoths already trapped. The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County has many of their complete skeletons. Despite the colloquial name of "sabre-toothed tiger", Smilodon is not closely related to a tiger, which belongs to another subfamily, the Pantherinae; Smilodon is a member of the extinct subfamily Machairodontinae.

《冰河世紀》里頭讓人印象最深刻的，就屬這只外形猙獰的松鼠了。這是動(dòng)畫(huà)片中夸張塑造的一個(gè)角色，就算是冰川紀，也沒(méi)有這么餓到窮兇惡極的松鼠哦。

松鼠體形通常中等大小，是寒溫帶針葉林和混交林中的典型代表動(dòng)物。松鼠上頜臼齒為5枚，下頜4枚，上下顎臼齒數量不一。前后肢間無(wú)皮翼。四肢強健，趾有銳爪，爪端呈鉤狀，體重通常在350克左右，雌性個(gè)體比雄性個(gè)體稍重一些。松鼠體態(tài)端莊而輕盈，體長(cháng)大約為18-26厘米，尾長(cháng)而粗大，尾長(cháng)為體長(cháng)的三分之二以上，但不及體長(cháng)。

In the English-speaking world, squirrel commonly refers to members of this family's genera Sciurus and Tamiasciurus, which are tree squirrels with large bushy tails, indigenous to Asia, the Americas and Europe. 負鼠是有袋目負鼠科的通稱(chēng)。是一種比較原始的有袋類(lèi)動(dòng)物，主要產(chǎn)自拉丁美洲。為中、小型獸類(lèi)。大多數具有能纏繞的長(cháng)尾，因此母負鼠能隨身攜帶幼鼠到處奔跑。尾毛稀疏并覆以鱗片。少數種類(lèi)尾短而具厚毛。四肢短，均具5趾。拇指大，無(wú)爪，能對握。平時(shí)，負鼠喜歡生活在樹(shù)上。它行動(dòng)十分小心，常常先用后腳鉤住樹(shù)枝，站穩之后再考慮下一步動(dòng)作。它們會(huì )在疾奔中突然立定不動(dòng)，捕捉它們的動(dòng)物往往會(huì )被這個(gè)動(dòng)作嚇得大吃一驚；負鼠在來(lái)不及躲避敵害時(shí)，往往裝死，這不是它聰明的舉動(dòng)而是它被嚇的暫時(shí)的休克。

Crash and Eddie are two fraternal twin brother opossums that appear in the second film. These two brothers were the adopted brothers of Ellie the mammoth, but cared for her all the same, even teaching her to hang by her tail from a tree branch when she slept as they did.

Didelphimorphs are small to medium-sized marsupials, with the largest about the size of a large house cat, and the smallest the size of a mouse. They tend to be semi-arboreal omnivores, although there are many exceptions. Most members of this taxon have long snouts, a narrow braincase, and a prominent sagittal crest.

這是《冰河世紀》第三部中的新角色，一只叫做Buck的鼬鼠，這位瘋瘋癲癲的獨眼龍老兄是不是讓你想起了《獅子王》中經(jīng)典的貓釉丁滿(mǎn)咧？

鼬鼠有一種體形很小的黃鼠狼，它廣泛分布于亞北極地區的叢林中，有時(shí)也穿越叢林的邊緣進(jìn)入北極苔原，但嚴格說(shuō)來(lái)，它們算不上是北極居民。常年生活在北極草原上的最小的食肉動(dòng)物是鼬鼠，或稱(chēng)之為貂，它們才是真正的北極居民。



Buck (short for Buckminster) was a weasel that makes an appearance in Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.

Originally, the name "weasel" was applied to one species of the genus, the European form of the Least Weasel (Mustela nivalis). Early literary references to weasels, for example their common appearances in fables, refer to this species rather than to the genus as a whole, reflecting what is still the common usage in the United Kingdom. In technical discourse, however, as in American usage, the term "weasel" can refer to any member of the genus, or to the genus as a whole.

《冰河世紀》第三部中另一個(gè)看點(diǎn)就是地獺母性大發(fā)，養了仨霸王龍寶寶，非常爆笑。印象中霸王龍是一種非常殘暴的恐龍，但近年來(lái)的新發(fā)現可能為之正名哦。

暴龍又名霸王龍，身長(cháng)約13公尺，體重約7公噸，生存于距今約6850萬(wàn)年到6550萬(wàn)年的是白堊紀末期。暴龍是二足恐龍，擁有大型頭顱骨，并藉由長(cháng)而重的尾巴來(lái)保持平衡。相對于它們大而強壯的后肢，暴龍的前肢非常小。長(cháng)久以來(lái)，暴龍被認為只有兩根手指，但在2007年發(fā)現的一個(gè)完整的暴龍化石，顯示它們可能具有三根手指。暴龍的飲食習性現時(shí)不明：隨著(zhù)科學(xué)家利用暴龍的骸骨來(lái)制作模型，以模擬它們的行為，實(shí)驗結果使他們認為暴龍其實(shí)應該是種食腐動(dòng)物；另外，甚至亦有科學(xué)家指當時(shí)根本沒(méi)有足夠肉食以供暴龍食用，所以大多數時(shí)候它們都是吃素的。這些觀(guān)點(diǎn)互相矛盾，到現在還未有統一的結論。



Momma was a female Tyrannosaurus that took Sid the sloth away from his herd when he took her eggs from her.

Tyrannosaurus (meaning 'tyrant lizard') was a genus of theropod dinosaur. The species Tyrannosaurus rex ('rex' meaning 'king' in Latin), commonly abbreviated to T. rex, is a fixture in popular culture. It lived throughout what is now western North America, with a much wider range than other tyrannosaurids. Fossils are found in a variety of rock formations dating to the last three million years of the Cretaceous Period, approximately 68 to 65 million years ago. It was among the last non-avian dinosaurs to exist prior to the Cretaceous–Tertiary extinction event.

哈哈，前2天忍不住，搞了個(gè)影版瀏覽了一下，那個(gè)獨眼龍鼬鼠相當牛X...
不過(guò)有些夸張了，恐龍和這些動(dòng)物就不在同一個(gè)年代，而且居然住在地底下...還是1和2經(jīng)典...
